Museums

The Netherlands is known for giving birth to some of the most prominent artists and painters in the world. Artists like Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Jan Steen and Van Dyck were considered to be the best painters of their time, and were collectively known as the 'Dutch Masters'. Now the Rijksmuseum houses their paintings in a special collection known as 'The Masterpieces'. Visitors to the Rijksmuseum can also enjoy the exquisite collection art masterpieces such as Rembrandt's legendary 'Night Watch', and other acclaimed works by Dutch artists. To say that the collection is magnificent would be the understatement of the century. In addition to these artworks, the Rijksmuseum also holds a fine collection Asian art, rich in heritage and various other accumulations from around the world.
