Starting at Damrak 34, the local tourguide will bring you out of the crowded city centre and guides you to places most tourist don't tend to visit! Learn about the Amsterdam culture, history and architecture and gain local insights. Your first stop is on the Prins Hendrikkade, at the Basilica of Saint Nicholas. The guide will tell you more about this beautiful Roman Catholic church that bas built in 1887. From here, you will bike towards Amsterdam Centraal, and go to Prinsen eiland. This a calm residental area with charateristic drawbridges and houseboats. You will be taking a nice ferry ride to go to the North side of the city. Cross the IJ river and enjoy the views of Amsterdam from the water! At the northside you will notice a completly different vibe from the other parts of the city. From streetart at the NDSM wharf to the many antique shops and cool terraces, you will understand why this place is so loved by locals! Close to the EYE museum is where you will board the ferry to cross the IJ again. From this point you can see the modern architecture. Amsterdam is expanding quickly and ever-changing, but never allows the buildings to look boring! When you bike next to the IJ, at Veemkade, you will pass the old warehouses. On both sides of the water you have an amazing view of these typical buildings. At this stop, your guide will teach you more about the significance of these buildings. The next stop is at one of the few authentic Dutch windmills in Amsterdam, and regarding to the locals this might be the prettiest one; Windmill 'de Gooyer'. The tour takes you to Oosterdok, where you have a great view of the NEMO Science Museum, the Central Station building and the Martime Museum with it's impressive VOC-ship.
