Description
Step into Amsterdam’s past and follow in the footsteps of Anne Frank and the Jewish community during WWII. On this 2-hour guided walking tour, you’ll stand before monuments, museums, and hidden corners that tell stories of resilience, resistance and hope.
We begin at the Anne Frank Monument, where the bells of the Westerkerk once echoed through her diary. From there, we walk past the Anne Frank House, simple-looking on the outside, yet a world of hidden life and words on the inside. At the Dam Square, you’ll hear how celebration turned to tragedy in the final days of the war.
As we enter the historic Jewish Quarter, history deepens: the Jewish Museum shows the richness of Jewish life before the war, while the nearby Auschwitz Monument reflects the pain of loss through its shattered mirrors.
We end at the Portuguese Synagogue, still glowing by candlelight, and at De Dokwerker, the proud symbol of resistance where ordinary Amsterdammers once stood up against injustice. Along the way, your guide will share stories that bring these places to life, moments of everyday courage, heartbreaking loss, and the unbreakable will to survive!
This is more than a walk. It’s a journey through Amsterdam’s most powerful history, one that will leave you reflecting long after the tour ends.
