Before World War II, approximately 80,000 Jewish people lived in Amsterdam; only 12,000 survived after the war. The Netherlands had the highest percentage of Jewish lives lost in Western Europe. Among them was Annelise Frank, who dreamed of becoming a writer.

Meet your guide near Dam Square to begin the walking tour. You will uncover the effects of Nazi occupation, follow the history of Amsterdam’s Jewish community, and learn about their challenges and resistance during the war. The tour concludes outside the Anne Frank House. Please note this tour does not include entry to the Anne Frank House.
