Visit ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo, the oldest zoo in The Netherlands and the 5th oldest in the world. Be amazed by the many species living side by side in the Forest House and Bird House. Stroll through this historic park with monuments, centuries-old trees, and beds full of colorful and fragrant flowers. Watch giraffes, zebras, and kudus intermingling on the Savannah. Take a trip through space inside the planetarium (admission included). Feel the fluttering of countless wings in the Butterfly Pavilion. Admire the botanical garden and take a restful break at one of the vegetarian restaurants. Within the historic walls of the renewed ARTIS Groote Museum, go on a journey past all kinds of interactive installations. Learn incredible facts like how your intestines do the same thing as tree roots, or that a baby crawls the same way that a crocodile moves.
