Description
ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo is situated along a canal, featuring historic monuments and flower gardens. The new ARTIS Aquarium offers an in-depth look at underwater ecosystems, colorful coral reefs, and marine life from Amsterdam canals and around the world.
At the renovated Kerbertterras, formerly the lion enclosure, observe ring-tailed lemurs, red ruffed lemurs, and radiated tortoises living together. The zoo also includes a botanical garden and vegetarian restaurants for a relaxing visit.
Check the daily schedule for zookeeper presentations about animals such as jaguars and Asian elephants. The Planetarium is included with admission, providing shows on stars, planets, and the universe.
ARTIS-Micropia
Micropia is the world’s only microbe museum, showcasing the invisible microbes essential to life. Discover living microbes through microscopes, interactive displays, and lab technician stories.
The Water Lab features three aquariums with water from a farm ditch, seawater, and Amsterdam canals. Look into microscopes to see the hidden microbial life in each drop.
Note that the time slot you book is for ARTIS-Micropia only. You may visit ARTIS Zoo anytime during opening hours on your visit day.
