Description

Starting from the Beursplein walking through the Citycenter to Dam square the first thing to do is to talk about the most important sights on the Dam: the Royal Palace, National Monument and the Nieuwe Kerk. If possible ( open for public ) take a look inside, with its rich history and beauty. Learn about how Amsterdam was built and expanded into the most important trading metropolis in Europe. The immeasurable wealth of the Golden Age and the Dutch monarchy. Pass the Magna Plaza building to enter the 'Torensluis', Amsterdams former Maut bridge, with all information about the creation of the canal belt and its development. Amsterdams unique architecture with the countless beautiful and loving details. Continue along Amsterdams most beautiful canals in the direction of the Haarlemmer Buurt and the Western Islands, where both the former, small shipyards and pure life in Amsterdam can be found. ( you can also swim if you want....) In a curve back, pass the modern, newly designed Westerdoks and the unique Houseboats, to Brouwersgracht with converted warehouses, to the outermost canal, Prinsengracht and the well-known Jordaan district. A short visit at the Noordermaarkt, if it's a market day we stroll along the diverse market stalls, maybe you want to try a Haring or Amsterdams best Icecream? ... and if wanted recommendations for the nice dinner restaurants around, the best Appeltaart ever and the most tasty drinks. See the famous Anne Frank house and the Westerkerk, with it's tower and eventful history, located around the full life on the smaller canals of the Jordaan. If wanted, accompaniment back to the meeting point on the Beursplein, after the Homomonument have been seen. Of course there is the possibility of strolling into the Jordaan district on your own from here, browsing the numerous shops of the 9 Straatjes, eating out or strolling to the fancy shopping areas of Amsterdam.
