Description

Amsterdam is known for its biking culture and alternative art scene. On this fun 3-hour bike tour, you'll experience these in a relaxed group setting, with some surprises along the way. With your local guide, you'll explore parts of Amsterdam that most tourists don't see. You'll ride past beautiful canal houses, colorful street art, unique old and new architecture, and historic industrial zones and shipyards. You'll discover some of Amsterdam's hidden urban gems. Plus you will be making some art yourself! This bike tour starts near Central Station, which is convenient if you're using public transport, as all main transport methods stop there. Once you're fitted with a traditional Dutch bike, we'll pedal to the western part of the city, exploring the 17th-century harbor area of Prinseneiland and the working-class neighborhood of Jordaan. Both areas have changed a lot in recent decades as hipsters have moved in. Here, your guide will introduce you to 'magnet fishing.' Who knows what you might pull out of the canal! We'll take a short ferry ride across the IJ (eye) river to see the up-and-coming locations in the former shipyards of Amsterdam North. You'll see old cranes, slipways, and some industrial buildings of the huge NDSM terrain. This area is also famous for its amazing street art and graffiti. You'll even get a chance to create your own art, as anything goes in the north, as long as it's 'beautiful.' You'll learn about Amsterdam's rich history and the unique quirks of its culture. Your guide will share personal stories, observations, and opinions, making the tour both informative and fun. All our guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining.

• A good level of fitness, health and biking skill is necessary. This guided bike tour is 12 km / 8 miles long and lasts 3 hours. Helmets are not required for this tour but are available if you want. If you want to bring drinks or snacks, please bring a backpack.
