Start near Amsterdam Centraal and take the ferry across the IJ River to Amsterdam Noord. From there, cycle through quiet bike paths and charming neighborhoods toward Zaandam. Along the way, stop for a photo at the quirky Inntel Hotel, designed to look like stacked Dutch houses. Arrive at Zaanse Schans, where you’ll have 1.5 hours to explore at your own pace. Visit traditional windmills (entrance optional), taste Dutch cheese, see how clogs are made, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this iconic village. On the return, ride through scenic farmland and Twiske nature reserve, then catch the ferry back to the city.
