Description
The Rembrandt House Museum is the only museum worldwide entirely dedicated to Rembrandt. He lived and worked here for nearly 20 years, producing some of his greatest masterpieces. Visitors can walk through his living room, art collection, and famous atelier.
Daily painting and etching demonstrations reveal Rembrandt’s creative process, allowing you to observe the master’s techniques up close. The free multimedia tour, available in 16 languages including Dutch sign language, shares stories about the house and its former residents.
Families can enjoy a special multimedia tour featuring Rembrandt’s dog Kwast and a treasure hunt designed for children. The modern museum wing hosts temporary exhibitions with works by Rembrandt and artists influenced by him.
Special Exhibition: Rembrandt & Life (June 12 to August 30, 2026)
This summer exhibition presents over 50 prints and two paintings that illustrate the stages of life from cradle to grave. It highlights Rembrandt’s attention to everyday moments, from a crying baby’s clenched fists to the expressions of young lovers and the wrinkles of old age.
