Description
Depart from Amsterdam city center and take the ferry across the IJ lake. Cycle over dams and dikes, passing picturesque villages and scenic countryside. Your guide shares insights into local history and water management while you ride along the embankments that keep the land dry.
Halfway through the tour, stop in Holysloot, a small village in the farmlands of Holland, for coffee and a break. Here you can enjoy the renowned homemade apple pie and ask your guide any questions in a peaceful setting.
After the break, continue to Ransdorp, a former capital of the Waterland region. Discover its history and iconic flat church tower before returning towards Amsterdam.
Before arriving back in the city, visit Holland’s last chalk windmill to learn about the 17th and 18th century windmill industry and capture a photo. The tour concludes shortly after this stop back in Amsterdam.
