Experience the magic of winter at the Skating Rink Museumplein in Amsterdam. With the iconic Rijksmuseum as a backdrop, this is the place where locals and visitors from all over the world come to skate, dine, and soak up the winter atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a first-timer, the rink offers a unique experience. Rent skates on-site or bring your own (no speed skates allowed). Enjoy the festive atmosphere, complete with hot chocolate, cold noses, and the special ambiance of skating in the heart of Amsterdam. Even if you don’t skate, you can enjoy the catering area Het Wak and the many activities around the rink. This season promises to be extra special, with sensory-friendly skating, curling, children’s parties, and collaborations with partners like the Sven Kramer Academy. The Skating Rink Museumplein 2025-2026 opens on November 8 and stays open all winter until January 30. On weekdays, it’s open from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On weekends, it opens at 10:00 AM; on Friday and Saturday you can stay until 10:00 PM, and on Sunday until 9:00 PM. The ice rink itself always closes one hour earlier. During the Christmas holidays, from December 20, 2025, to Sunday, January 4, 2026, extended opening hours apply.

Important Information

• The ice rink is open from November 8, 2025, to January 30, 2026. Weekday hours: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM; Weekend hours: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Friday and Saturday), 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (Sunday). During Christmas holidays (December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026), open daily from 10:00 AM. Gloves are mandatory on the ice rink. You can bring your own ice skates. Figure skates are not permitted.
