This guided tour visits the windmill village of Zaanse Schans, located 20 km from Amsterdam, ideal for those interested in Dutch culture and history.
Meeting at Amsterdam Centraal station, the group travels sustainably by train to Zaanse Schans. The village features historic windmills dating back to the 1600s, a cheese farm, and a wooden clog factory.
Guided walks explore the green wooden houses typical of the area, small bridges, and the tranquil village atmosphere. There is time to photograph the windmills and experience the slow pace of life in the Dutch lowlands.
The tour includes visits to a wooden shoe factory where traditional clogs are still made and a cheese farm offering cheese tasting. After the tour, return by train to Amsterdam.
Optionally, on the return trip, you can visit the LEGO House in Zaandam independently. This site is not part of the 4-hour guided tour but can be accessed at no extra cost with guidance from your tour guide.
