Such an enjoyable property to stay at. Very friendly and welcoming staff, making you feel at home. The location is perfect whether you want to go on a tour or explore the city — this could be one of the best places to stay. It’s also right next to Vondelpark, which is a lovely park worth visiting. Also, a quick mention to the breakfast buffet — great option. Worth mentioning that renting a bike is a great option to explore the city and save time getting between locations, in case you don’t want to wait for the tram. That said, I’d suggest taking a bike tour or getting some introduction before venturing out on your own, since this is the main mode of transportation for most people and you need a bit of experience navigating the city. But worth trying out. The rooms are cozy and do the job. The only thing I’ll say is that a little more furniture could be useful for longer stays — something like a console with drawers in front of the bed, and a luggage rack to place your bag so you don’t have to put it on the bed or floor. The closet and storage space is a little on the small side, and there are aspects of the room that could be improved. But overall a nice well maintained property.

Lovely hotel with cafe attached. My friend and I shared a spacious double room on the 1st floor which had a view of the street & canal, and Bar Kosta opposite, which I would highly recommend for a nice dinner & drinks out. The room and bathroom were impeccably well kept and the air con was the key selling point for us as we visited during the European heatwave! Check in & out was fast and easy, they even changed our room to let us access our room to store our bags free of the early check-in charge which was perfect. I was a big fan of the big windows & windowsill we could sit on and watch the world go by.

The room assigned to us on the lower floor for the first night was extremely poorly maintained and unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. There were spiders and spider webs in several areas of the room. Our first night was truly a nightmare. My wife is pregnant and has a serious fear of insects. Despite explaining the situation to the staff, no effective solution was offered. We were told that it was not possible to change our room that night. To make matters worse, the staff member on duty suggested that if we were not satisfied, we could go to another hotel located 200–300 meters away. We found this response highly unprofessional and far below acceptable standards of guest service. Although our room was changed the following day, the negative experience and the attitude we encountered left a lasting impression. Unfortunately, changing the room was not enough to restore our confidence in the hotel. In addition, even though some time has passed since our stay, the authorization hold on my credit card has still not been released. Overall, this experience left us with a very poor impression of the hotel, and unfortunately, it is not a place we would consider staying at again.

I stayed for 3 nights in the triple room with my partner and daughter, it was very comfortable, spacious and clean, all the staff we met were very kind and helpful. The location is perfect, easy trams to go wherever you need and convenient for taking day trips as the public transport in the netherlands is great. Also, being just a few minutes from Vondelpark is incredible and it was lovely to walk around on a hot afternoon. There’s a great selection of bars and restaurants near the hotel, and the cafe downstairs serves delicious coffee, I didn’t try the food but the baked goods looked very tasty. I also love the sustainability and ethics of the hotel as a company, more businesses should operate in a ‘conscious’ way! Would recommend and stay again.

A great hotel in a lovely part of Amsterdam. Right in the north-west corner of Vondelpark, it offers great access to the city centre via a number of convenient tram routes. 15 minutes on the tram and you are right in the heart of Dam Square. The rooms are well appointed with everything you need for a short city break. The hotel itself is full of character with the environment and sustainability at its core. There are lots of features which sets this hotel apart from the normal chain options. The staff are very friendly, polite and professional and happy to answer any questions you might have. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam who wants a well appointed, family friendly hotel but doesn’t mind being a short distance out of the city.
