Lovely quiet area with plenty of nice bars and restuarants around. Room was lovely and clean. Great shower. Friendly staff. Cocktail menu would be nice. Easy to.walk to center.
Great location for walking or tram, bus from the airport is a 15 min walk to Hotel. Nice wine not overly expensive, we had a suite overlooking the bar. Dual aspect decent size room and location is very quiet. Staff in hotel and bar very friendly.
We stayed for a few days in early June as a couple. The hotel has a stylish, modern design (with the usual drawbacks, like no bathroom privacy, the toilet was behind what looked like unlockable wardrobe doors and the walk-in shower tended to flood the floor quite a bit). The air condition worked allright so not being able to open a window was not such a big deal. The bed was super comfortable (although the pillows were a little to thick). The floors are naked concrete, looks cool, feels even cooler. The water in the shower didn't get hotter than luke-cold in the mornings, so we decided to shower in the evening when the water was hot. Breakfast was good if a little underwhelming for the price. What was truly great was the location, a quiet neighbourhood far enough from the tourist masses and garbage of the red light district but right next to the fantastic Food Hallen. The staff at the hotel was always friendly and helpful. I especially want to mention the small Italian lady with the stern look, she was really competent and helpful. So to sum it up, the Hotel de Hallen was not a bed choice for our trip but a little overpriced for what was offered.
this place is Fine. good location and very easy to get around but otherwise kind of a bummer. chic aesthetic in the common areas but my first floor room was like a cave, SO dark even with the curtains open. also, terrible wifi that kept disconnecting, which made planning my day in the morning a bummer. also, don’t add breakfast, it’s bad.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are genuinely friendly, but the overall experience feels more low-cost airline than 4-star. The issue isn’t the staff, it’s the policies. Being made to self check-in while staff are present is unnecessary, and being pushed to buy “discounted” breakfast on arrival feels like aggressive flash-sale marketing. It gives Temu vibes rather than hospitality. It’s not welcoming, it makes guests feel cornered rather than valued. Another example is the lack of basic amenities. The room didn’t include water, and when I asked for a couple of bottles I was charged €7. For a 4-star boutique hotel, complimentary water is a basic expectation, yet this hotel kept proving me wrong. The bike rental is another example. I paid €18 for the day, then €13.50 for returning it just one hour late due to heavy rain. I respect the rulesm and expected to pay for the extra hour, but that kind of surcharge feels very Ryanair and completely disproportionate. There is a clear mismatch. The facilities feel luxurious, but the experience feels rigid and profit-driven in a really cheap way.
