Central Library (Openbare Bibliotheek)
Amsterdam
The largest public library in Europe, the Openbare Bibliotheek, is known to locals as 'the bib'. The bib is located a short walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station and houses more than just books. In addition to finding quiet places to study, you can find restaurants, international newspapers, and even a piano that is open to public use. Don't worry, though, it is only limited to those who actually know how to play the piano, so it creates a lovely atmosphere. Best of all, you can peruse books, magazines, and newspapers seven days a week from 10 am to10pm for free. The highlight is the view of Amsterdam from the La Place cafe on the 7th floor. You should visit just for this!
