Artsy and elegant and always cool, Café 16cc is a really nice place to hang out and chill with your friends. As one of Amsterdam's many Filmtheaters Café 16cc stands out as being an all round entertainment venue. Hit Café 16cc if you're in the mood for a movie with a meaning, a movie you'll keep thinking about long after you've left. The cinema hall in the basement where they show quality movies old and new, tickets for these shows may be purchased at the bar upstairs or online via iDEAL. Outside there is a nice lounge with comfortable couches and chairs to sit on. The staff is polite and helpful. Also having a fully stocked bar, Café 16cc is a bit of everything. It is a literary and arts hub with guest speakers coming in and talking about their works. Photography and music enthusiasts also frequent Café 16cc for the same reason. The café opens at 4pm Monday through Saturday and closes at 1am (2am on Friday and Saturday). The area can also be booked, in part or entirely, for private functions or parties.
