If you're in search for a classic Dutch mini cinema, Cinecentre is where you should go. While they have 4 screens it doesn't feel too commercial, the cinema has a very retro feel. They are so retro they still do intervals in the middle of the movie so people can get up, stretch and maybe try out some of the cafés snacks or hit the bar for a pint to bring back to the movie. The movies they screen are also in the same theme, arty and rather cosmopolitan while still being mainstream enough to pull the regular crowds. A bit out of the city, you can get to it by taking trams 1, 2, 5, 7 or 10 to Leidssplein. They open late on weekdays and Saturday, 3:30pm to midnight. On Sundays the first screening starts at 10:30am.
