Int Aepjen is a traditional Amsterdam 'brown' pub, named accordingly because of the dark woods and stained walls that are characteristic of pubs dating back a few centuries, as this one claims it does. Here you can sample some Dutch tipples along the lines of local beer and genever based drinks - in a cosy and homely environment, complete with a resident cat by the name of Binky. The interior alone is inspiring and unique, featuring dark wooden furniture and a few stuffed monkeys (reminiscent of the times when sailors visited this pub and traded monkeys for beers, as legend has it).
