t Doktertje
Amsterdam
This tiny bar is located a few side streets and alley ways south of Dam Square, which makes it hard to find even for the persistent. If you do happen to locate it, however, you will undoubtedly find it well worth the trouble. A good century or two old, this building has remained in the family, and what used to be a doctor's medical practice is now a quaint and rustic pub. The drink selection is impressive with a range of jenevers and beers, in addition to a wide selection of malt whiskies. There is a tendency to have jazz music playing here which provides a pleasant and ambient atmosphere. Certainly 't Doktertje is a place to spend a few hours if you get caught in a spell of rain.
