1928年の夏季オリンピックのために建設された、オリンピックスタジアムは、アムステルダムサッカークラブAjaxの本拠地として1996年まで使用されました。フィールドホッケー、サイクリング、さらにはスケートなど、多くのスポーティングイベントにも使用されており、以前はオランダ代表サッカーチームの本拠地としても使用されていました。その後、改装され、Ajaxがバイルマーアリーナに移転した後、キャパシティはトラックアンドフィールドの観客をターゲットに減少しました。スタジアムは2016年のヨーロッパ陸上競技選手権の会場となります。2005年、オリンピックスタジアムはオランダ代表チームを中心としたスポーツ博物館となりました。
