Hermitage Amsterdam is a famous museum, derived from the renowned Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. Hermitage Amsterdam makes exhibitions with the art from the Hermitage St.-Petersburgh, covering illustrious subjects such as the Russian Orthodox Church, the life and conquests of the legendary Alexander the Great, and the prestigious collected works of Modernism artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Van Dongen and De Vlaminck. This relatively new museum opened its doors in the summer of 2009. Since then, thousands of tourists and Dutch visitors have been flocking to its exhibitions to sample some of the most exotic artistic marvels known in the world.
