The Koninklijk Paleis or Royal Palace is now used for state visits, New Year receptions from the Dutch Royal House and other official functions. A visit to this royal building will introduce you to one of the world's most well-preserved and comprehensive collection of Empire-style furniture and decorative arts that include upholstered and wooden furniture, original wall hangings as well as bronze chandeliers. A total of 17 rooms, galleries and halls are open for visitors that showcase sculptures and paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, hand-painted ceilings and grand marble floors.
