アンネ・フランク・ハウスに近く、ウェスターカークに近い場所にあるホモ記念碑。性的指向により迫害されたLGBTコミュニティのメンバーに捧げられています。1987年に作成され、言葉「友情への終わりのない欲望」がオランダ語で刻まれています。花崗岩のモニュメントは、LGBTコミュニティが経験した長い旅と、彼らが引き続き直面している課題を思い起こさせます。この記念碑を市中心部に設置することで、すべての人々の自由の重要性が強調されています。自由の概念は、オランダ人の日々の生活において強く根付いており、寛容の都市であるアムステルダムは、長い間ゲイコミュニティの中心地でした。
