KochxBos Gallery Amsterdam

Art in Amsterdam Shopping

Standing alongside cafes and shops in a cozy street in Amsterdam's Jordaan district, the KochxBos Gallery is an art gallery with a refreshing selection of, shall we say, progressive art. Founded in 2005 by Hans Bos and Esther Koch who wanted to share their love for off-the-track modern art with the world, KochxBos now showcases a superb collection of artists such as Ray Caesar, Harma Heikens, Ciou and Sarah Maple.

Features

From Caesar's futuristic interpretations with a Victorian twinge to Ciou's acrylic beasts, the KochxBos gallery transports the viewer to the quirky world of today's underground art. Some of the fixtures are bound to raise eyebrows though. Sarah Maple's contributions of Muslim women clad in burkha smartly smoking or caressing a piglet are enchantingly mischievous to say the least. The hangings themselves are arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

Admission is free of charge.
