Description
Explore Amsterdam's historical center on your own, with a little help from us. We set the direction and the stops along the way, providing a snapshot of the city. Each stop has four badass stories, so you can curate your own experience. (We even have a recommended story if you need help choosing.) Explore as much as you want at each stop, getting a perspective on Amsterdam like never before.
The webapp works off of your browser, so there’s no app to download and you don’t share any personal data. You get unlimited access for two weeks, so you can tailor your experience to the time you have.
Go at your own pace. Take breaks in between and do something else. Explore the city at 3 AM. Return to stops to uncover more badasses or to rediscover your favorites.
Bonus: Need a tour in French, German, Italian, or another language? Use your preferred auto-translate browser or plug-in, and all text will be translated!
Want a little taste of the stories we have for you?
Dirkje Kuik, who paved the way for trans people around the world, shares a stage with Mina Kruseman, a 19th-century actress who first promoted anticolonial writer Multatuli and then went to war with him. A single site covers Indonesian hero Surapati, the financial backer of the Dutch invasion of England, and a group of women whose names are as lost as their cause was.
