Amsterdam Jewel Cruises
Amsterdam
They say that if you haven't taken a trip down Amsterdam's waterways while eating a candlelit dinner at sunset then you have not really experienced one of the best ways to spend an evening. We don't really know who 'they' are but while we're on the subject of canal cruises, allow us to point you towards Jewel Cruises, one of the most popular cruises in the city.
Sitting aboard a quaint saloon boat, quaffing a tipple with your meal while exchanging sweet nothings with your sweetheart sounds like the stuff of Audrey Hepburn movies. Jewel Cruises makes it happen.
Things To Do
The Henry Schmitz is a 16 metre long saloon boat built at the turn of the 20th century. It is also the setting for Jewel Cruises. There are different cruises to choose from, such as the a la carte gourmet dinner cruises and the private cruises.
Jewel Cruises embarks on its ride during the evening, when the city's beauty is at its zenith. Guests will be provided with one of the private tables, all of which are situated next to a window to soak in the view. You can order a meal of your choice from the menu along with any drink you fancy. All the dishes in the three-course meal are prepared fresh, so in case you have a special dietary requirement, you may ask for a modification. All this while, the captain will be giving a guided tour of the city and the buildings that pass you by.

Duration and Timings
The dinner cruise starts at 7:30 pm and lasts for a duration of 2½ hours. At the end of the cruise, you will be dropped off at a location of your convenience, granted that it lies along the canals. However, the latter holds true for a private dinner cruise only.
It stays open from Tuesday through Saturday and its timings are 11:00 am till 5:00 pm. On the cruise days, it stays open till 7:30 pm.
