Been here several times in past years, but this time not impressed at all. First and foremost staff that is not paying attention, from order food / drinks to everything else had to wave and try and get attention. In addition several dishes were sold out and we only heard about this when ordering food ( not strange as waiter was not around). And I fully understand food prices have homeboy but paying 26 euros for some gamba’s having a side dish of 6/7 euros is steep. Very disappointing for what should have been a nice evening out.
Me and my friend had a quick bite in Hangar. I ordered a kimchi, cheese sandwich which tasted really good ( 1 piece was already in my stomach i took the photo) There are also tables outside facing the canal which has a good view. We had to go inside doing order, i wasn't sure it was because they're understaffed or something else.
We found this place randomly and We were very satisfied with the host, stuff and especially the place /location of this restaurant. When the weather is great, it is worth to go for a dinner to see the Amsterdam city from anotherside of the river. In this location in some way You can feel like in a movie :) Food was very delicious. Those who write lese than 4* have to understand where are they going and what they have to expect there. There is not a place where You eat volumes of food or calories. There is a place where You taste magic of food mixing secretes and enjoy the vibe all around it. In my honest opinion every € spent there was worth. P.S in photo attachement is a started of Buratta. Yet it is the best cold started I have ever tasted.
We came with the family to have a dinner here. We were welcomed well, the host was kind. For the food, the food was tasty (for some dishes) but not a lot of food for the high prices. I ordered a steak and it was so small for 27 euros (without a side dish, the fries was 6€ extra). 2 persons took the 'pasta aspergus & she'll fish' but the pasta was not well cooked (possibly prepared in big quantity in advance and reheat in microwave), and with almost no shell fish in the dish... (really small few pieces). As well we waited for the food more than hour to receive the main dish. But what was good in the dish: côte de bœuf was good (not crazy but good), and the tuna tartare really good seasoning, same for gambas. The service was ok, the place didn't have enough waitress so they had to be quick and that made it feel less comfortable (running everywhere, really long time before ordering, receive food). The area is beautiful (in front of the canal) but unfortunately not good mood/atmosphere to have a nice dinner.
A very charming and unique restaurant. Atmosphere is mellow, and very inviting! Service was prompt and very friendly. I had their Wagyu Burger...absolutely delightful! An inventive and tasty take. The side of fries I ordered were also scrumptious. I can highly recommend Hangar if you're looking for great food, an unpretentious and inviting dining room, and a great staff experience!
